2024 Yearend Report

Discipleship training defined FOLD’s mission work in 2024. By the mercy of God, we were able to launch our small group discipleship training with all our university students. With 2 to 3 students in each group, we were able to connect much deeper at the spiritual level and impart the truth of God. In total we had 3 girl groups and 1 boy group. This was in addition to the large discipleship group we already implemented on Sunday afternoons. When our students were asked whether they feel their spiritual live have grown in 2024, the answers were resounding  “yes” without any hesitations.

We cannot recap 2024 without addressing the great flood in Chiang Rai. 9/11 became a day to remember for the greatest flood in the history of Chiang Rai. Most hill tribe and flatland villages were inundated, and most of the metropolitan area also suffered great damages. By the mercy of God, all children, students, and family members were unharmed in this flood. And the damages to our facilities were not extensive.  Water pumps, road surfaces and new power lines/poles were replaced and installed. Our student were also able to join in flood relief efforts. FOLD provided flood relief assistance to fellow missionary organizations and local villagers.

We were blessed to have a new coworker joining our ministry toward the end of 2024. We now have 3 full time coworkers and 1 intern coworker on our leadership team. One of the main goal we aim towards was leadership training. To raise our leaders to be faithful and effective servants for God, we utilized curriculums from John Maxwell’s 21 Laws of leadership training.

We were blessed with 6 children graduating from elementary school and 6 from junior high school this year. FOLD have served some children at the orphanage since they were in preschool. So this year’s thanksgiving celebration was a very special one. We are able to help children in need to pursuit education and realize their dreams. Most importantly, for them to come to know Jesus and offer their lives up to Jesus.

It is hard to believe our eldest American daughter Priscilla will be graduating from university in May of 2025. It is an even bigger surprise God had called her to come back to Chiang Rai to serve at her alma mater Chiang Rai International Christian School as an English Literature instructor. Our youngest daughter Paulina has always known about her calling to come back to serve on the mission field after her university training. Now it looks like our original family of loving disciples will reunite in Chiang Rai again. This time with our children as full-fledge missionaries as well.

1 of our 5 bible college student Somui has entered in to internship. He has chosen to serve at a southern province with very little Christians. Since We first known Somui, his heart to evangelize and make disciples for Jesus was always crystal clear. And God has blessed Somui with wonderful seminary training. He is currently leading many youths in Yala province to know Jesus.
